Today, the State of Hawaii is a very tranquil place. Sixty-nine years ago this Tuesday the day was anything but peaceful—shortly before 8 a.m. the Japanese planes arrived off the coast of Oahu and in a short morning’s work left over 2400 dead, more than 1000 wounded, and the bulk of America’s naval and air power in the Pacific in ruin there at Pearl Harbor.
President Roosevelt said this would be a “date which would live in infamy.”
Tuesday, December 7, 2010 is a day for us to pause and remember that freedom is not free and some have paid the ultimate price.
Everyone is encouraged to attend and remember all that has been given by our service men and women.
