UNIT SERVICES: Intake Assessment Screen CPS reports referred for suspected child maltreatment; determine safety and risk of children; conduct family Initial Assessments; determine service needs and refer for services; provide court related services including court referrals, court reports, testimony, and recommendations. Additional duties include voluntary child welfare assessments and family services referrals to agency and community resources. Information and Referral Assist with information and referral to appropriate community resources and services. Alternate Care Place children and youth in various alternate care facilities including shelter care, receiving home, foster care, group homes and residential care centers. Kinship Care Assess and monitor placement of children with relatives when parents are unable to provide appropriate care.
