Job Center resources:
Any laid-off individual receiving unemployment benefits is eligible to meet with a
case manager at the Sheboygan County Job Center, 3620 Wilgus Ave. Case
managers can answer questions and help identify the various assistance programs individuals may qualify for and provide ongoing guidance during one's job search or schooling.
The job center also houses five agencies that provide a wide range of services for people out of work, including: training and education; job search assistance; resume help; career counseling; and economic support.

How to apply for unemployment benefits:
Apply for unemployment benefits by calling (800) 822-5246, or online at http://unemployment.wisconsin.gov. Claim specialists are available to answer questions at (800) 494-4944. Call volumes for applications and questions are greater on Mondays. Hold times are typically shorter Tuesday through Friday.
If your application is approved, you must file a weekly claim for a benefit check either
online, or by calling (800) 978-7887. An unemployment week runs Sunday to Saturday.
Call after the week is over.
Your claim begins the week you apply, or reapply. To avoid any loss of benefits, apply the first week you are unemployed. Don't wait until the week is over.
