Powerful Tools for Caregivers
Powerful Tools for Caregivers is specifically designed to provide education and support for family caregivers. Participants meet once a week for six weeks and learn to take care of themselves, reduce personal stress, communicate feelings, needs and concerns, manage challenging situations, become emotionally healthy, and master challenging care giving decisions.

Living Well with Chronic Conditions
Put Life Back in Your Life. Learn how to manage the challenges of living with a chronic health condition in this workshop that meets once a week for six weeks. Find practical ways to deal with pain and fatigue, discover better nutrition and exercise choices, understand new treatment choices, and learn better ways to talk with your doctor and family about your health.

Stepping On
Stepping On is a well-researched falls prevention program for individuals who have fallen or are at risk of falling. This workshop meets once a week for seven weeks. Participants learn simple and fun balance and strength training; the role vision plays in keeping your balance, how medication can contribute to falls, ways to stay safe when out and about in your community, and how to check your home for safety.

Retirement Decisions
Everything you need to know about retirement ... if you are thinking about retiring, you really need to take advantage of this free program presented by Pat Hafermann, Elderly Benefit Specialist from the Aging & Disability Resource Center and Annette Gilligan, District Manager from the Social Security Administration. Pat and Annette have been doing this presentation for the past two years and it has been very well received. (standing room only at the ADRC last year) It is packed full of information that you need to know when you are considering retirement. The same program is being offered on three different days and different locations for your convenience. Please call the Aging & Disability Resource Center at 467-4100 for a reservation.

FALLS PREVENTION FAIR
…Watch for information about the Falls Prevention Fair to be scheduled in the Fall of 2012!
Falls are the #1 cause of death by accident for adults over the age of 60. Did you know that most falls occur in the home? Did you know that if you take 4 or more medications you have increased your risk of falls? Come and learn valuable information about preventing falls and have fun at the same time.

Family Care Giver Event
A Retreat for Family caregivers
…The Family Caregivers Coalition in Sheboygan County will be offering Spiritual Renewal for the Family Care giver, a retreat for family caregivers.
Retreat participants will learn and practice simple journaling techniques for stress relief, and simple and therapeutic massage touches to aid in blood circulation and passive muscle movement.
